SNOWY Mountains resident Vickii Wallace has been recognised for years of tireless work and dedication to the local community.

Mrs Wallace, a councillor on Snowy River Shire Council and president of the Dalgety District Community Association, was presented with a NSW Premier's Award for community service at a special ceremony in Queanbeyan on Tuesday.

Member for Monaro John Barilaro said Mrs Wallace, who is also assistant secretary of the Dalgety Show Society, vice president of the Snowy River Alliance and formerly on the Dalgety P and C, gave tirelessly to the community and was a deserving recipient.

"Vickii [was awarded] for exceptional long-term service to the region through her tireless work on numerous community groups, committee's and local government," he said.

Mrs Wallace was among six Snowy River Shire residents to be recognised for their contribution to the local community.

Monaro Community awards were presented to Narelle Willems, Tom Barry, Neen Pendergast, Jill Jodges and Bruce Hodges OAM.
