THE under 12s Piglets are premiers for 2014, prevailing in a very hardfought and close game over St Edmunds on Saturday.
The final score reflected how close the game was with Jindabyne winning 14 to 0.
The under 12s travelled to Canberra on Saturday with plenty of support from parents and extended relatives who turned out in numbers.
The first half was very close with no big breaks from either side but great defensive efforts from both teams. Eventually Bryce Black made a damaging run and although tackled short of the line he reached out and scored the first try.
BJ then kicked a great goal to led 7-0 at half time. The Jindabyne boys were playing a great game and did not need to change much. The first 15 minutes of the second half was played in the Piglets 25m but they defended well and held out the opposition. Eventually they got out of their 25 and the defence forced St Eddies to drop the ball. BJ pounced on it and ran 40m to score under the posts with an impressive dive. He converted his own try and made the score 14-0 which was the final score at full time. It was a great game to watch and both teams played a great game. There was plenty of celebrating and some happy players and supporters.
