SNOWY River Shire residents will get to have their say on a proposed rate increase being put forward by council.
Over the next 18 months Snowy River Shire Council will be consulting with the community as part of council's proposal for a possible rate increase.
This rate increase proposal is called an Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) of NSW Application for a Special Rate Variation (SRV).
"How this application will affect you as current or future rate payers and residents will be addressed throughout the consultation period," Council's general manager Joseph Vescio said.
"Council will be coming out to talk to our community over the coming months, to obtain your opinions in relation to our Shires infrastructure gaps and how we propose to maintain our assets into the future.
"We encourage all rate payers and interested residents to participate in these consultation sessions, which will be delivered via a number of different mediums and locations. Your views are important to Council and influence the future direction of our Shire."
At this stage council is advising everyone that this process is underway and will continue to provide information to the community as it moves through each phase of the project.
