SCOTT Kneller has defended his reigning title by finishing first in Top2Bottom, Australia's most iconic fast-paced annual downhill race. With the biggest field of competitors in the event's history, the conditions at Thredbo were prime thanks to colder temperatures overnight. At the crack of dawn, racers, including the new face of Thredbo, Torah Bright, ran to the starting line atop Kosciusko Express and sped hastily down the 3.2 kilometre Supertrail - Australia's longest run.

Kneller was thrilled to be first across the finish line for the second year in a row.

"This year's Top2Bottom was the best yet with a great course, the best conditions and an awesome crowd! I can't wait for next year,"Kneller said.

Each of the Top2Bottom competitors put on an impressive show, enduring tight turns and burning legs in order to take home one of Australia's most iconic snow titles. The best male and female competitors across both categories were rewarded with a cash and prize pool generously provided by G.H MUMM Champagne totalling more than $15,000.

Olympic gold medal winning snowboarder and new face of Thredbo, Torah Bright, took to skis in her first ever Top2Bottom event.

"I've never competed in the Top2Bottom event, so I thought it could be a bit of fun to throw on some skis and have a go! I sure had a lot of fun

barrelling down Thredbo's Supertrail on a set of skis, I hope I can do it again next year," Bright said.

In an exciting new twist, this year Thredbo added a challenging new dynamic to the annual Top2Bottom race. For the first time, Australia's best mountain bike riders took to the Top2Bottom course on Fat Tyre mountain bikes specifically designed to be ridden in the snow. The adrenalin inducing course proved to be challenging as riders pedalled along for a downhill thrill.

The Top2Bottom celebrations will continue off the slopes today at the Thredbo Alpine Hotel, with an epic Peli-Ski apr s party presented by G.H. MUMM and Pelicano. From 3pm to 6pm, Pelicano will deliver its unique style of fun that it has become famous for, with music by resident Pelicano regular DJ Dashing and former Sneaky Sound System MC Daimon Downey. One of Australia's leading bartenders will also be on

hand to create Pelicano's signature cocktails, with bubbly provided by G.H. MUMM.

The annual Top2Bottom race is a well-loved staple of the Thredbo events calendar and competitors are already looking forward to next year's event.
