Making Berridale more pedestrian friendly

WORK is currently being undertaken on Snowy River Shire council infrastructure at the corner of Jindabyne Road and Myack Street in Berridale to remodel pedestrian accessways to the main road and install an improved pedestrian traffic island for greater safety for all residents and visitors.

The Berridale Pedestrian Refuge Upgrade and Mobility Impaired Improvement project is being fully funded by the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) and they have approved the construction drawings. The upgrade will conform to the current Austroads and RMS standards. Council has engaged the NSW Public Works to manage the project.

Local businesses were informed prior to the work commencing and their views have been incorporated into the management of traffic during the construction period. The work is already underway and is expected to be fully completed by the start of the July school holidays.

In consultation with Council's S355 Berridale Beautification Committee a garden will be re-established as the final phase of the project.

The construction drawings are available at the Berridale front counter for the public to view.
