On Saturday May 10 the Snowy Mountains Region's Navy Cadet Unit, TS ORION, held its third Annual Inspection at its base at Lodge 5, Department of Sport and Recreation, Jindabyne.

Once again, the fledging unit equipped itself well with a Squad led by Cadet Leading Seaman Connor Fricke and a Guard led by Cadet Leading Seaman Brian Hukins. The parade itself was commanded by Cadet Leading Seaman Dan Truscott and was attended by families, senior staff of the Australian Navy Cadets, invited guests and community representatives. The parade was inspected by Lieutenant Commander Jake Radloff, Flotilla Commander of Defiance Flotilla (ANC).

TS ORION aims to build teamwork and leadership skills in young people through rewarding adventure and maritime activities, and cadets travel from as far afield as Bibbenluke and Bungarby to attend. Membership of the Australian Navy Cadets is open to Australian citizens aged between 13 and 19.

For further information on TS ORION, contact Sub-Lieutenant Pierre Vennick on 0402 048 416.
