Pizza slice key to armed robbery arrest

A pizza slice found on the doorstep of a Goulburn house has led police to the arrest of a 26-year-old Goulburn man for armed robbery and other unrelated offences.

Police say the man was delivering pizza to a home on Towrang Avenue and Manar Street around 11.30pm on Wednesday when he was approached by another man armed with a knife, who allegedly demanded money and a mobile phone.

The offender then fled the address with the cash, a mobile phone, and the pizzas the man was delivering.

The pizza delivery man then contacted Goulburn police who established a crime scene.

After investigations, the police found a slice of pizza at the front of a nearby home on Manar Street.

Police officers spoke to the 26-year-old before finding the pizza boxes, a knife and the cash inside the residence.

The man was arrested and taken to Goulburn police station, charged with armed robbery and additional unrelated offences.

He was refused bail and will appear at Goulburn Local Court on Thursday.
