ONLY two months to go.
The new Snowy River GP Super Clinic continues to progress at rapid pace.
In an aim to keep our community up-to-date on the opening and services available through the Clinic, Council will produce a weekly article in this newspaper in the lead up to the Opening Day.
Whilst the Clinic is due to open early June, the official opening day has been planned for Saturday, June 21 so mark it in your diaries now.
A community open day will be held from 1pm to 3pm and everyone is welcome to tour the facility and speak with staff who will be available to answer questions.
A formal function will be held in the evening with the unveiling of the building plaque by government officials.
The Snowy River GP Super Clinic will house a general practice on the top floor of the building.
There are an increased number of consultation rooms and treatment beds in the new facility allowing for greater capacity during the winter tourist influx.
Extended hours during our peak winter season will be available to our local residents and visitors, as well Saturday mornings all year round.
Downstairs will house pathology, medical dispensary, physiotherapy, and three rooms available for casual or part-time hire for other health professionals such as a speech therapist, or a counsellor for example.
There is also a meeting/training room, (including internet, projector and screen) on the lower floor which is available for hire day and night.
A new digital X-Ray machine has been purchased for the facility and will offer enhanced and improved services that are not currently available in Jindabyne.
The Clinic has been designed so that the main entrance to the building is accessed from the Thredbo Terrace carpark, where there will be sufficient patient parking.
The building will have an internal lift and external ramp to the top floor allowing for ease of access for wheelchairs, prams and people with limited mobility.
Next week will we will introduce the doctors.
