Last weekend two 13-year-old Jindabyne nippers, Declan Burke and Massie Phillips, trained in Tathra to become young surf lifesavers. They spent the weekend with other 13-year-olds from the far south coast training to be awarded their SRC (surf rescue certificate).
This allows them to do beach patrols at Tathra while they gear up to get their Bronze when they turn 15.
Congratulation young surf lifesavers.
Jindabyne Yabbies are gearing up for the Tathra far south coast branch surf carnival on Sunday.
It's a great experience for the youngest Yabbies to see what happens at a carnival to make sense of all the training they have been doing on Thursday afternoons.
The older children enjoy competing on the sand and in the ocean and always have so much fun.
If you have young children and are considering joining Jindabyne Nippers next season it's a great opportunity to get down to the beach while the weather is still beautiful and to spend some time with other families enjoying themselves while teaching their children to be safe in the ocean.
