Dan is Dalgety's Rural Achiever

Dan Rowson of Berridale was sashed as the Dalgety Show Rural Achiever at the Dalgety Show.

The Award recognises young rural people who can make a significant contribution to their local community and to rural Australia.

Dalgety Show Society president Trish Gerny said Mr Rowson has the ideas for the future and the short term.

"He is a lovely young man," Ms Gerny said.

Mr Rowson will be sponsored to attend the Royal Agricultural Show (in Sydney) (RAS) Rural Achiever Award competition in late 2014 where eight finalists from rural NSW will be chosen to participate in the 2015 RAS Award program.

It is the fourth year the Dalgety Show Society has hosted the Rural Achiever Award.

The Dalgety Show Rural Achiever Award is open to both males and females aged between 20 and 29 years old, who live or grew up in the Snowy River Shire.

Applicants for the Award are between 20 and 29 years of age as of March 2, 2014.

Previous Dalgety Show Society winners were Tim Dreverman in 2010, Geffrey Keighley in 2011 and the Dalgety Show's first female winner, Brittany Jackson in 2012/2013.
