THE little showground on the banks of the Snowy River attracted well over 3000 people on Sunday - the biggest crowd ever - for the annual Dalgety agricultural show. The 70th show, the only one in the Snowy River shire, was considered by all a great success and attracted families from across the Monaro and the Snowy Mountains.
The appearance of PRIME7 POSSUM combined with Milo the Clown was a real draw card for this event which delighted children while the older generations took a trip down memory lane as the Dalgety Show Society celebrated its 70th show with a huge birthday cake cut by longest show society member Charlie Roberson.
The official opening combined a special tribute to Richard Wallace, the outgoing Dalgety Show Society President, read by past president Justin Hedger.
The wonderful display in the pavilion once again showcased the local talent in the region from artworks to produce. With displays including massive pumpkins, local artwork, homebrew and stunning cakes there was something to tempt the tastebuds for all.
