Suns 1.1 (7) Colllingwood 0.0 (0)
First quarter, 11th minute
Charlie Dixon has two goals in two minutes; first after marking metres in front of Brodie Grundy, second after a race for the ball in the goal square. Everyone's getting a lot of space out there - looks like both sides are intent on playing bruise-free footy today.

First quarter, 16th minute
Suns are dominating at Metricon early; 16 minutes in and Steele Sidebottom’s kick is smothered off the boot by Brandon Matera in the goal square after attempting to play on. Matera regathers and goals.
Suns 0.4.4 (28) Collingwood 0.0.1 (1)
Suns have finished the quarter 29 points up after completely dominating Collingwood, with Brandon Matera kicking a second goal in the 26th minute, a gem dribbled along the boundary from another Dixon knock.
Collingwood has fielded a strong team here with its entire starting midfield: are the Pies that rusty after three rounds? It's hard to know how seriously to take the contest, given its status and the lack of physicality, but Pies fans would be worried by their team's display to date.
Suns lead the Pies 34-5.

Second quarter, 10th minute
Suns pull away again, with consecutive goals to Danny Stanley and Michael Rischitelli, the second a long bomb from the flank.
Suns 7.4 to Collingwood a wasteful 1.9
Second quarter, 14th minute
Another goal to Aaron Hall; the Suns are killing Collingwood all over the park.
Suns lead by 39 points
Second quarter, 21st minute
Rischitelli has his second, and the Suns are out to a 41 point lead. Even for a practice match, this is becoming something of an embarrassment for Collingwood to date. But the embarrassment has nothing to do with the youth of their opposition – this Suns team is sharp, skillful, and much stronger than previous years. It’s obvious, for example, how much time the likes of Brandon Matera have spent in the gym, and it’s showing.

Second quarter, 27th minute
More bad news for the Pies, with Dixon kicking his third goal of the afternoon for the Suns and Collingwood's former captain, Nick Maxwell, hobbling off with what looks like a possible hip injury after kicking an unlikely goal for his side.

Suns 10.9 (69) - Collingwood 3.10 (28)
Third quarter is under way here at Metricon, with Travis Cloke kicking his first goal for Collingwood. But it's swiftly answered by Timmy Sumner, who keeps the Suns' 41-point margin intact.
Suns 11.9 - Coll 4.10
Collingwood is looking a little better early in this second term, with Cloke kicking his second goal 7 minutes in and Jesse White also hitting the scoreboard. Nick Maxwell is also back on the ground, though still looking in some discomfort.
Meanwhile, Tony Armstrong and Jarrod Witts have been brought on for their first runs of the afternoon.
Suns 11.9 - Coll 6.12
Fourth quarter, 3rd minute
Collingwood has snatched the lead here at Metricon, with Jesse White kicking the first two goals of the quarter. An aside: at the end of each quarter, they've kept their opponents waiting, soaking up as much rest time in the heat as possible, with the Suns waiting in position on field.
Suns 12.11 - Coll 12.13
Fourth quarter, 10th minute
Dixon has his fourth goal, matching Cloke at the other end, and the Suns have a three-point lead back in what’s become a surprisingly enthralling contest.
Suns 13.11 – Coll 12.14
Fourth quarter, 18th minute
Cloke has his fifth for the afternoon after Stephen May gives away another free kick trying to contain Collingwood’s Goliath, and the Pies have the lead again.
Suns 13.12 – Coll 13.15
Fourth quarter, 22nd minute
Cloke has become the story of the afternoon for Collingwood. He’s completely worked Stephen May over, and after finding his radar he’s pretty much stolen the match with six second-half goals.
The captain, Scott Pendlebury, has just added a little icing with a silky running goal.
Suns 13.13 – Coll 15.15
Fourth quarter, 25th minute
Suns aren’t done with quite yet. Matt Shaw wins a 50m penalty and slots his first from the goal square. Collingwood still with an eight-point lead.
Suns 14.13 – Coll 15.15
Fourth quarter, 26th minute
Swan kicks a terrific set shot from near the boundary line to just about sew up an unlikely victory for Collingwood.
Suns 14.13 – Coll 16.15
Collingwood has won its first match of the pre-season in unlikely style, coming from 41 points down to get up by 14 points over Gold Coast.
As the cliché goes, it was a match of two halves – the Pies were an incoherent mess for the first half, but six second-half goals to Travis Cloke did the business.
The Suns were terrific early, but in a practice match, it’s hard to know whether their main concern in the second half was not getting hurt.
Thanks for your company, that’s all from Metricon.
Final scores: Suns 14.13 (97) Collingwood 16.15 (111)
Third quarter, 11th minute
The Pies are mounting something of a challenge, with Clinton Young kicking their fourth goal of the term, a set shot from 55 out on an angle. That’s why they recruited him from the Hawks – he remains lethal by foot. But, again, the Suns answer, with a quick reply by Andrew Boston.
Suns 12.9 – Coll 7.12
Third quarter, 21st minute
We have a contest at Metricon now, with Cloke kicking his third for the quarter for Collingwood, closing the margin to a manageable 21 points for the Pies. Plenty of time yet – and now young Ben Kennedy snaffles another!
Suns 12.10 – Collingwood 9.13
Charlie Dixon has just missed a shot after the siren for his fourth goal, which would have been very handy for the Suns – a couple of minutes earlier, Cloke won a free kick in the goal square for his fourth goal of the term.
The margin now is just 10 points after a seven-goal term by the Pies, a fair turnaround from a horrible first half.
