DALGETY has been abuzz this week as the small town prepares for the biggest day of the year - the Dalgety Show. The showground is looking beautifully green and the pavilion is ready for the numerous entries to be displayed this Sunday.
It isn't too late to enter your veggies, arts, crafts, photographs, homebrew or cakes as the show accepts entries right up until 8.30 the morning of the show. Even the school is getting busy with students preparing their written works and art to be displayed in the pavilion alongside the works from amateur and professional artists and photographers.
Our faithful canine friends who help the farmers, the police, and the vision impaired to name a few will feature in the novelty art event. And it's not too late to get involved - make one or make a pack - any breed, shape or size, young or old. Make it, glue it, sew it, weld it, nail it or paint it from anything you can think. Entries are due by 9am on the day of the show.
All the favourite agricultural displays and competitions return including the wood chop, yard dog championships, horses, cattle, poultry, pavilion exhibitions food stalls, and all day BBQ, plus the all important Arthur Costello Tug-of-War that will see female and male teams battle it out for the trophy.
And just for kids Milo the Clown is back for 2014 and catch PRIME7 POSSUM officially open the show at 1pm.
