Tourism Snowy Mountains (TSM) is continuing to work with Destination New South Wales to secure a substantial grant towards a major two year market development project for spring, summer, autumn tourism over 2014 and 2015.
The Regional Visitor Economy Fund (RVEF) is designed to increase domestic visitation in NSW and demands a high degree of planning and documentation as part of the accountability involved with the use of public funds.
Unfortunately for TSM this also involves a very demanding application process with requirements to be able to demonstrate provable outcomes.
TSM chairman Wayne Hart said that TSM was very grateful for the assistance of DNSW managers in formulating the administrative structures for the grant and ongoing project.
When approved the grant will enable the TSM team to undertake a multi-media (TV, print, online, and visitor centre information) campaign to increase potential visitor awareness of the multitude of activities in the three spring, summer and autumn seasons.
This will augment the very professional and successful winter campaigns run by the winter resorts and the individual campaigns of many all year round tourism providers.
He said the appointment of Neil Thew as executive officer will bring the skills and experience required to manage such a complex long term program.
