Grammar school has the spirit of Christmas

For over 12 years now, Joan Herringer, the registrar at Snowy Mountains Grammar School, has been organising a food and toy donation collection at the school to assist those in the Monaro who are less fortunate.

This year, Aroha Gibb, a year 12 student, suggested to principal Andrew Bell that, along with the usual toy and food drive,"It would be a good idea to raise more donations by holding a red and green mufti day so that students who wanted to come out of school uniform must hand over a gold donation too".

So the students of SMGS have been digging deep into their pockets and pantries to help those in need, and also have been enjoying a non-uniform school day.
