A house in Jindabyne was totally destroyed by fire in the early hours of Monday morning., despite the best efforts of fire crews.
Jindabyne Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) and the East Jindabyne Rural Fire Service (RFS) were called to the fire at Jerrara Drive at East Jindabyne at 3.15am but the house could not be saved.
FRNSW Jindabyne brigade Captain David Farmer said the two-story timber and stone house was completely engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived.
"The house was fully involved on our arrival," Captain Farmer said.
The house was vacant at the time of the fire, but it had been occupied 10 days ago.
"The police and RFS are investigating the cause of the fire, which is unknown at this stage, but does not appear to be suspicious."
