Adaminaby has been promised restoration of full Australia Post services - but don't hold your breath that it will be a speedy process.
The township has been without full services since the Post Office ceased operation at the end of November last year.
The Adaminaby Supermarket took over but has been limited in its operation by the lack of an appropriate post office licence, issued by Australia Post.
Postal services are run daily (except weekends) but banking facilities and the ability to pay bills through the Post Office are not available.
Postmaster Stephen Brayshaw has been negotiating with Australia Post for months without much success - until last week, when he heard the good news from Australia Post that a full service would be restored.
But wait - there is a tender process to go through first, and it is not known what the timeframe will be.
By Christmas, hopefully, but the residents will have to be patient for a while yet.
