Sitting LNP member for Bowman, Andrew Laming has claimed victory with 50 per cent of the vote counted.
Mr Laming has held the seat that covers Redland City on Brisbane’s east since 2004.
However, Mr Laming’s primary vote suffered an 8 per cent drop as the Palmer United Party candidate John Wayne has picked up nearly 14 per cent of the vote so far.
Labor’s Darryl Briskey is less than one per cent ahead of the Labor primary vote in 2010.
On two-party preferred, Mr Laming was polling 57 per cent of the vote to Labor’s Darryl Briskey’s 43 per cent after 50 per cent of the vote was counted. Labor’s two party preferred vote is up 3 per cent, mainly because of the preference flow from the Palmer United Party.
The Greens suffered a setback with a 3.7 per cent against Penny Allman-Payne.
