Tourism Snowy Mountains has a new chairman after David Sheldon was replaced last week by Wayne Hart.
David Sheldon, a local tourism operator, stepped down as chairman of the region's peak tourism body. He also resigned from the TSM Board.
He has been replaced by recently appointed skills-based director and deputy chairman, Wayne Hart.
No reason was given for Mr Sheldon's departure.
The Tourism Snowy Mountains Board accepted Mr Sheldon's resignation at the regional tourism organisation's Board Meeting held in Adaminaby last week.
"David has served on the Tourism Snowy Mountains Board for over six years and for almost two years as chairman. Everyone at TSM is sorry to see David leave as he has been a tireless and passionate promoter of the whole Snowy Mountains region," Mr Hart said.
"He has committed many hours of his personal time to the development and restructuring of TSM over recent years taking on many challenges in the pursuit of a more vibrant and sustainable visitor economy for the whole Snowy Mountains region.
"We wish David continuing success with his business interests that include Elm Cottage in Tumut and in his role as chairman of Australian Regional Tourism Network," Mr Hart said.
