In June concerns were raised about the structural integrity of Cow Bed Bridge on Rocky Plains Road. Therefore speed and weight restrictions of 10km/h and 12 tonne respectively, were put in place.
As a result of a more detailed assessment, the weight restrictions were further reduced to 3 tonne.
The council staff are currently undertaking works on Cow Bed Bridge to install props, the intention being to provide sufficient structural support to allow an increase of the weight limit back to 12 tonne once work is complete.
To carry out this work it is proposed to close the Bridge to all vehicles on Thursday 4 and Friday 5 September between 8.30am and 3.30pm.
Council will make every effort to minimise disruption to those who regularly use Rocky Plains Road and that this early notice will provide residents enough time to look at alternate routs during the period of closure.
