Support for those in need

Snowy Mountains Grammar Junior School (SMGS) displayed their support for the Relay for Life cause along with all other local schools recently by participating in a poetry competition that asked students to consider what Relay for Life meant to them.

The SMGS students wrote poems about having a heart and displaying love. Simply participating was the purpose of this very worthwhile local calendar event.

Students in Year 2/3 under the care of their teacher Marcia Elliott were rewarded with some very pleasing accolades. Harry Dutch in Year 2 won the Stage 1 division; Charlotte Wilson in Year 3 won the Stage 2 division with Sam Roche and Lawson Bell receiving the joint runner up position.

A special encouragement award was created by Lee Taylor-Friend who judged the event and was awarded to Tomas Klimes in Year 3.

As always it is wonderful to see local students in Jindabyne and surrounding suburbs show their support for those in need.
