HELLO patient fish waiters. I haven't been writing to you because I just couldn't bring myself to keep writing the same things all the time -which has been - nothing!
The good news is that delays have meant that we have been able to gather more resources so that our balance is now $25,358.47 with thanks to us all for caring about our girl so much especially when you add to this that we have already paid $25,000 for the work so far.
There has been a myriad of reasons for delays, mostly due to strange weather conditions, but now we think that we have a tighter ball park for starting the final stage.
Soon fishwife Mark will be there doing some final structural tidying up.
Then they will:
* Remove the existing fence if it is in the way.
* Enclose her with bunting but further back to allow cherry pickers inside.
* Clean her down.
* Paint her.
Pretty easy if you read it fast and you are sitting comfortably in your air conditioned lounge watching the tennis.
Then we will reinstall the fence further back to 150mm inside the existing pathway to allow for mowing but give her more space without encroaching on the barbecue area and parklands too much.
Her 'water' area will be filled with snowy mountains rocks.
Then we will stand back and think about how and where to mount the plaque of gratitude and fishy 'lurve.'
We have been asked not to publicise exactly when this is all happening because once work begins again, they need to keep going and can't stop to chat to keen tourists.
But we will get a full pictorial record to share with you.
The party hasn't been booked because of the uncertainty of the start date and hence the finish date but I have already hopefully endeared Macka enough so that he might come and do his Australia All Over show on site when we have our barbecue.
Fins crossed.
