Last Monday Sydney celebrated the star studded premiere of the raucous comedy A Few Best Men, the biggest premiere the city has seen since Baz Luhrmann’s Australia. Now join film-lovers at the Jindabyne Cinema on Thursday February 2 for the Snowy’s very own premiere hosted by one of the film’s stars and Jindabyne local - Tim Draxl.
Featuring Xavier Samuel, Rebel Wilson, Olivia Newton-John and of course Jindabyne’s own Tim Draxl, A Few Best Men is the latest to join the wedding film craze. When David (Samuel) and his three best men - Tom, Luke and Graham (Kris Marshall, Tim Draxl and Kevin Bishop) - arrive from Britain, the mandatory mayhem ensues. From naked drug dealers to intoxicated speeches, anything that can go wrong does. A sheep in drag, a runaway floral arrangement and Olivia Newton-John as you’ve never seen her before are some of the memorable moments of this riotous comedy in which the humour varies from the outrageous to the ridiculous.
Scripted by Death At A Funeral’s Dean Craig and directed by Stephan Elliott (The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert) A Few Best Men has received mixed reviews internationally but it’s silliness ensures a laugh from even the most hardened cynics and a good night out for all that attend.
Tickets are $30 inclusive of champagne on arrival and post film reception at Blue Lake Brasserie next door to the cinema. Doors open at 6:30 for a 7:00 screening. This is the only session time for this film in Jindabyne so book now to reserve your spot.
For bookings please call 02 6457 1133 or 04 21 792 058, or simply drop into the Blue Lake Brasserie at the National Parks and Wildlife Information Centre in Jindabyne.
This is a not-for-profit event with all proceeds from the night going towards the Tim Draxl Performing Arts Scholarship. This scholarship is designed to assist young people in the Snowy River Shire wishing to pursue performing arts education and training. Young people between the ages of 10 and 18 are invited to apply.
