The very successful, cost-free Jindy Mums and Bubs will resume on Thursday mornings beginning on Thursday, February 9. It will begin at 1 pm with Ms Melinda Kent, holding a relaxing session on Baby Massage in the CWA Hall in Thredbo Terrace, next door to the Jindabyne Fire Brigade Station.
If you are wondering what Mums and Bubs is all about, Julia Campbell described her experiences in this way -
“I began attending Mums ‘n Bubs when my little boy, Ollie, was just five-weeks-old and was quickly welcomed by the others and Chrissi Webb from the Jindabyne Branch of the Country Women’s Association, which hosts the weekly gatherings.
“ Mums ‘n Bubs quickly became a weekly addition to the point where our family trips were planned around it, minimizing the number of Thursdays missed.
“Not only is it a great source of information for new mothers, it’s a great social activity for both the mums and the bubs. Each week a guest speaker visits the group to provide information on topics such as feeding, sleeping, immunization, baby yoga, returning to work, the importance of reading to bubs and post natal depression, to name a few. The local community nurse, Melinda Kent, provides monthly baby massage classes.
“The best part of regularly attending Mums ‘n Bubs is watching the changes and developments that occur in all the babies week to week and month to months. I am a big fan and would encourage any new mum to come along and join in.”
Poss Borthwick-Higgs summed it up, “Mums ‘n Bubs was my sanity. I looked forward to it every week.”
