The Adaminaby Campdraft and Cooma Rodeo Committees put their heads together and came up with a fun riding day at Adaminaby on Saturday.
Billed as the “A&C Fun Day” the programme featured riding events for all ages and all disciplines.
Riders were aged from two years to 80 years with ribbons and prizes on offer in all categories.
A lot of the attention went to the “Golden Oldies” were there was a good turn up in each class.
Sixty riders took the opportunity to join in and have some fun in what turned out to be a great day for the whole family.
“We were thrilled with the turn up,” said one of the organisers, Michelle O’Neill.
Riders came from as far as Bega, Michelago, Cooma and Jindabyne. A lot of participants were members from the pony clubs on the Monaro. It gave the kids a chance to get their ponies going before starting the more formal gymkhana and show circuits.
The feature was the auction and dinner that was held on Saturday evening.
The fund raiser was held to raise money for the Adaminaby Campdraft arena and a planned equestrian arena in Cooma.
Thirty items were donated for the auction and 90 people turned up to bid and enjoy the dinner and the entertainment.
